Ask the Governor to to Stand Up for Refugees
In September, the White House issued an Executive Order (EO #13888, effective 12/25/19) that, for the first time, gives states and municipalities the authority to deny the resettlement of refugees in their communities. This EO is a state-by-state, city-by-city refugee ban.
We can help fight this egregious Executive Order by contacting Governor Newsom and asking him to take a stand and declare his support for refugee resettlement in California.
Click here to get a copy of a Sample letter that State and Local Officials can use to Support Refuge resettlement. You may wish to send a copy of this letter with your request to the Governor.
Be sure to contact Governor Newsom by December 25th
when the order goes into effect!
You can call Governor Newsom’s office at (916) 445-2841.
